I'd like to rebuild the vacuum switch behind the glove box that is used to control the hot water valve for the heater; does anyone know of the size of the O-rings that are in the valve? Since mine was completely deteriorated I couldn't tell if there was one or two O-rings when I took it apart; any help would be appreciated.

Doc's description implies one flat O-ring originally; replace with round O-ring widely available. But I was a little confused about his description of crimping (which end he was referring to), so I've yet to do anything with it.

I managed to get the whole valve apart; the back end prys off, it houses the spring and a small washer; the button head on the actuating side was pulled-off after applying heat; if I can get an O ring of the proper size I'll repair it.Comment

When replacing the fuel line on my chain saw,found it was the perfect size to make a flat style "O" ring for the vacuum switch. These lines are sized in millimeters and can't remember the exact size but I think they were color coded. Mine was a yellowish/green.
