Re: Barrett -Jackson Fees??
All I heard this year is 10% buyers fee and applicable taxes. It's 12% if you buy over the Internet. I'm not sure what applicable taxes means as that is not explained.
Last year I think it was an 8% fee for both the buyer and the seller.

Re: Barrett -Jackson Fees??
I've got a buddy who sold a car at BJ 7 or 8 years ago, and didn't leave happy. He just took a 572 crate powered '57 150 to Russo and Steel, who runs simultaneously, and right down the street. He was able to put a reserve on it there. He said there are TONS of people (buyers) who run back and forth between R & S and BJ all week.- Top

Re: why would anyone in their right mind go there
I spent several hours there each day. Mostly the early non TV hours. There were a few good deals at the auction this year. Only the prime time stuff is out of wack. IMHO this year the off hour cars were selling at or below market. The only real questionable deal for a normal market vette was this 84:
To early in the day to be chemically enhanced, not on TV so the fame can't be blamed, and Amy the auction girl didn't take the winning bid so you can not blame the hormones. Just a high price for a clapped out 84.
sold for $15.5K + fees. Eric #3,182- Top

Re: Barrett -Jackson Fees??
I dont do no reserve. i sold my 57 fuelie at blooming last june. mecum lets you add a reserve. i set the reserve at my asking price and made another 18k. reguardless the market conditions, the best cars still demand top dollar. could i have made more money at barett jackson, who knows. i dont have the money to take the risk of selling my cars at below market value. i had to pay $1000.00 to get a good time slot, saturday. then i had to pay 10% if the car sold which it did. with the market like it is today i would not sell a car. now its time to buy.- Top
