Big Block Radiator MK Tag

I need to repeat question on my 66 big block MK radiator tag. Was the tag painted along with the radiator before installation into the car, or was the tag even painted at all? It doesn't say in the JG. I had to replace it because the original was not on the original radiator...lost or discarded after a rebuild job. The replacement tag from DeWitts appears to have a black oxide finish to it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Every one that I have ever seen was painted with the radiator.
