    C1 Hardtop Rebuild

    Just purchased "Vette" magazine for March and it contains the second part of a story on rebuilding a C1 hard top (Top of the Heap). I would be very interested in the first part that was supposedly in the Feb issue. Has anyone read it? Is it worth trying to order a back issue?
    I have already dis-assembled my top but believe the first part article could be helpful. Is anyone aware of other articles on this topic? I have the NCRS article on installing the rear window.
    This appears to be a very challenging project.

      I read the first part of the article with interest since it is something I need to do "someday". The gist of it was "don't try this at home, but if you insist, here's how".Some good information, but a three apge magazine article isn't going to serve as a service manual. Be worth reading. I'm sure they have back issues.

          It is indeed a challenging project well suited to fill those long winter nights. Mine is still in the garage in pieces in the same place it's occupied for the last two years. I haven't seen the VETTE article but I think you'll want every piece of documentation you can get your hands on. With that in mind, there are some instructions in the "1953-1962 Corvette Servicing Guide", Section 1-40 to 1-44, available from NCRS.

                      Terry, you didn't mention the year of your vette but could you do me a favor? I'm having a terrible time locating a supplier of weatherstripping for the rear bottom portion at the back window for a 1962 Hardtop. It has a "hump" and I haven't located a kit to complete my project yet. I know you're busy at this stage of the restoration, but if you hear of any kits, etc... it would be greatly appreciated.
