I was looking through the ncrs flight scoring sheets and didn't notice any line items for glovebox contents or any of the new tags that would have been in the car at the dealership. First, is anything like that judged and second, what items (separate from what is judged) came attached to the car, i.e., manual, battery info, etc. Anything for the radio? clock? etc.
thanks
Look at the Interior Score Sheet, Item 15, Top Cover Trim, Separator & Compartment, the last of the four line item check boxes (Compartment contents & HT wrench).
That's where judges score the items you're asking about. Then, turn to your copy of the '58-60 JG book and read the corresponding text. It ennumerates the individual items that would have been in the glove box from the factory when the car was originally delivered.
I have tags w / #'S on back & bottoms of seat frames. I have a Survivor 58 with all documents. If you need any info I will be happy to help you. Drop me an email.
Cheers
Deb
Jack: Come on, how was I suppose to find it under "compartment contents!" Thanks for the answer-I guess when i read the manual for the 100th time, I always skipped that small section because I knew it was something to tackle "down the road" during a long body-off restoration. Looking at it now, seems kind of obvious. As always, you have the answers.
Thanks again, Steve
Also consider taking some time off from your restoration/preservation work to get out and attend an NCRS Judging meet. Volunteer to be an Observer Judge and you'll see the overall flow of things + learn a BUNCH and meet/interact with your fellow club members...
All too often, I see folks sitting back, reading the literature, browsing the DB web site and HOLDING BACK from the process of getting out/getting active. They seem to want to wait until their car is 'done' and/or it's 'perfect'...
That NEVER happens! I don't think there's ever been a 100.0% Flight car (without mileage driven credit) and a picture (actually seeing this/that) is worth a BUNDLE.... So, I tell folks get your car judged early (the best time is before you've touched a nut/bolt), get active, and enjoy the whole NCRS experience.
In the end, the ribbon and/or award certificate isn't what you'll remember/cherish... It's the JOURNEY itself that's where the fun is! The people you meet, the knowledge you learn, the process of sweating the details, and the personal interaction(s) you have along the way that stays in your mind.
