Mounting Screws for Radio Reciever Box in '96 Conv

Can someone tell me what the screws/washers look like that mount the Radio Receiver Box in the jack compartment behind the passenger seat and how many screws/washers are used to mount the box? I recently purchased this '96 convertible and the Receiver Box is lying in the bottom of the compartment.

The GM part number for these screws would be a great added bonus!

    Thanx,

    -Floyd-

    Floyd------

Unfortunately, GM never published any information regarding the screws used to retain the receiver. Many radio-related parts fall into a "gray area". For instance, the radio receiver was never available from GM through GMSPO parts channels (although the control head was once available through GMSPO). It could only be obtained through Delco Radio Service Centers (most of which are now gone). Since the receiver was only available through such sources, much of the related parts (like brackets, fasteners, etc.) were omitted from GM parts information. However, the brackets, fasteners, etc., were usually not available through the Delco Radio Service Centers. So, these parts fall into a "gray area".

My suggestion would be to find another car and determine the required fasteners empirically. Once you have a description of the fasteners, I may be able to find a suitable GM replacement by "reverse reference". You don't need to find another 1996 convertible, though; I believe the same set-up was used for all 1993-96 Corvettes with similar radio RPO.

Floyd, email me your address & I'll send you the 2 studs that were used for mounting the CDM box.

on my 94 coupe the CDM is wedged between the foam and the body. And I never saw wear any studds were?

There were 3 different mounting systems on C-4's. Yours is correct for a coupe.
