    Here is a "fun fact".

    The 53 cars did not have three holes. They had one long hole with rounded ends. The metal plate covered the hole. I have never seen the sealer used on this metal plate on any 53. Even car #130, which had never been apart.

    1954's had the three hole design though.

      OK, and 1956 Corvette SN 2117 (original powerglide car) does not have the holes, but 1956 Corvette SN 3298 (original 3 speed car) does have the holes.

      I'm confused.

          1956 #945 has three holes. An AT car.

            The '57 AIM shows the bead of sealer was added in 1955.
