I believe this to be the original cap that came on my 65 365hp, is this correct? Also if it is the correct cap, does anyone know if it can be restored as it doesn't hold pressure. Thanks in advance for any help, it is much appreciated.

Re: 65 SHP Expansion Tank Cap
Paul,
It appears correct to me.
Do you have a picture of the sides?

Patrick,
These are the best shots I could get of the sides and I threw in a shot of the backside as well. Thanks for your help.

Re: 65 SHP Expansion Tank Cap
Paul - It looks like the rubber seal on the bottom that seals to the expansion tank is missing. Most likely the source of the operational problem. You might also replace the bottom center valve assembly as it also has a seal under it. Pete- Top

Re: 65 SHP Expansion Tank Cap
Paul,
It's definitely real.
As Pete states, it's missing the rubber gasket.
Nice piece.
