Guys,
Can anyone give me an idea as to how to calibrate a fuel gauge?? Here's the problem. I needed to pull the dash today on my 1963 in order to replace the ammeter which was defective. As I was removing the two gauge mini-cluster (with the fuel gauge) the needle pointer fell off the fuel gauge. I can put the whole thing back together but before I do, I need to get that fuel gauge needle properly aligned. By applying a small voltage (like 9V) I can get the needle to deflect stop to stop so the mechanism is working.
Question, is there a particular voltage which will make it read say full???
Thanks, Joel
