    '50s Delco Shock Numbers

I'm sneaking in a semi-non-Corvette question here. I have a '50 GMC pickup with what appear to be the original Delco shocks, with date codes 5-C-50, 2-C-50, and 2-A-50. Does this sound like the Delco dating system on early Corvettes? If so, what do the first two characters represent?
    THANKS.

Thanks, Dan. I searched some older threads, and found the same response.
