Midyear tailights

Does anybody know of a company that is willing to replate taillight bezels? I have two boxes of pitted pieces and I would rather recycle them than throw them away. I realize they are pot metal, fragile and hard to replate. I have, however, bought replated bezels a few times at Carlisle, so I know it can be done, but at what cost? Thanks.

Probably not worth the effort - pitted pot-metal die-castings are VERY expensive to repair/re-plate, far more than the price of new ones; the Trim Parts midyear taillights are excellent.

Hello; May I suggest not to waste your time trying to replate 40 year old pitted pot metal parts. Pot metal by it's own nature will break down over time and even if you were to replate the bezels, more than likely they will blister in the near future. The other problem is that the chrome is hard to travel inside the bezels without an anode to pull the chrome into the cavites. Have you checked out the repros from Trim parts? Good luck...Andy

Thanks for the input. I guess I knew all that but somehow I find it difficult to take my old parts to the metal recycling at the dump. Old Corvettes never die, they just get reborn.
