    C1 1961 Blower Switch

How many wire lugs should be on the blower switch and where do the wires go?
My switch has 4 positions for lugs: B and 1, 2, and 3. The 1 lug is broken but is there. The 2 lug is either completely broken off or was never there. The factory wiring diagram and Dr. Rebuild's (GREAT help by the way) are a little vague in that they only show a 14 ga. brown wire marked "Heater". Am I correct in assuming the B lug goes on the Fan(Blower) wire? Where does the brown "Heater" wire go on the switch? Are the other 1 or 2 lugs used? By the way, thanks Roy, for the picture of this switch you posted. Once again, thanks for all the help.

    It's been 25 years

So I may have forgotten. On my 1959's there was only one spade connecter on the back of the switch, and that is where that Brown wire goes. I have a loose switch in the garage, but it's lost among other parts. I don't remember a choice of terminals. But I CRS #2???

      Re: It's been 25 years

      Hmmmm,
That makes me wonder if the switch in my very un-original '61 is from some other similar application like a passenger car or something. It's very similar in appearance to the picture posted by Roy Braatz in response to a former question. By the way, your color wiring diagram is almost like a magic wand for a beginner like me. Hats off to you and thanks for your response.

          Geoffrey,
I'm technologically challanged, but the picture was in response to my post of 22 January at 5:08 pm entitled :C1 Interior Fan Switch- Whats this? It is on the second page back about half way down right now. Thanks for your help.

            Re: . Heater control switch

The heater control switch on '61-'62 had two wire lugs only... the brown wire from the harness (fuse panel)connected to one lug and the second lug brown wire went to the heater motor. the motor was grounded to the heater assembly.

              Re: . Heater control switch

And the heater was grounded through the bowden cable back to the switch contact with the console trim plate; flaky, but cheap. They work a lot better with a dedicated ground wire from one of the motor flange screws to a known good ground.
