Re: door panel
I got the first 2 sets of the new design door panels from Corvette America a few months ago, and they fit like a glove. I got both a set of 67 coupe panels and a set of 65-66 convertible panels, and they both fit very good. I had to deepen up the notches that the door retainer clips go in, but that was about it. They got the upper metal under the vent window perfect. The only downside is that they are about half the price of the other supplier, so you will have to figure out how the spend the surplus funds! LOL

Re: door panel
John,
What do you mean by "new design"? Did CA re-do their door panels recently? I bought a pair from them for my 65 convertible some 5 or 6 years ago and the fit was less than ideal, particularly the alignment of holes for the window cranks and lock knob and the dense foam making it difficult to install the crank handle retainer clips. The upper metal under the vent window was also less than ideal, but not an installation issue. Have these areas been improved? To this point I had been led to believe that Al Knoch was a better way to go...
Thanks,

Re: door panel
The new CA door panels are better than previous reproductions. They look very good when carefully installed on a restored car, but obviously remain detectable as not factory original.
John, perhaps you could elaborate upon your observation regarding the factory installed liner and adhesive. I once asked John Kennedy about this; his reply was not conclusive to me... Paper or plastic? White "goop" sealant, dark gray or other??? I was rushed at he time and don't know if he got the question or I his answer... I believe it may have changed thru C2 production.
I'll post a photo of one believed original '67 specimen when I get a few minutes to work it up.- Top
