My firewall splash shields (steel) were covered w/undercoating (zebart stuff). Got them cleaned up, but what is their finish supposed to be. lookes like there could be the remains of black paint near the mounts.
The shields on my 70 are a black-grey phosphate color. Not black painted. Although the shields on my conv are lighter than the shields on the coup that I recently sold! They should look like the hood latches, in that they have a fine sparkel to them when direct lite hits them. You could look in the Hemmings and find someone that applies this type of coating or try the Eastwood spray bomb can? I think that the spray can would pass on the splash shields but probably not on the hood hardware? Thad LeJeune 32187
