    Re: C1emergency brake switch

    James,

Nobody repops the switch that I am aware of. You might want to check with Mary Jo Rohner, as she might have one. Sorry I don't have pic. the switch clamps around the body of the parking brake with a clamshell bracket, and a pin that is inserted in the shaft of the brake assembly actuates the switch when the handle is pulled. The pin is avainable from most of the catalog houses. A real common falure mode of this switch is that the wide head on the pin breaks off and wears through the leaf on the switch that depresses the plunger on the switch. Last time I saw a NOS switch, it brought $200, and the flasher brought over $75.

    Regards, John McGraw

              Rich--
The one on ebay that you made reference to and pictured, if you notice carefully, is a 61-62. Look at the wiring--there is no provision for it to utilize a flasher. The only wiring is to the fuse box and to the bulb socket which should house a 257 flashing bulb. The switch is identical, and the wiring very similar in color, etc--but there is a difference.

Mike, Yes, good catch. It doesn't have the short brown wire which would go to the flasher like on my 59. I wonder if the bulb socket wire for the 61-62 version is the same as the earlier version.
