Re: Should have driven that sucker to the race
Great photo Joe. Thanks for sharing.....
I really like the hold down cables on the knock offs! True test of strength. Actually I think the best way to trailer any car is to tie down the wheels somehow to let the suspension float.
The hubcaps on the trailer wheels are very cool too. Were those car issues I wonder, or JC Whitney specials?

Re: What's the value of a classic like that?
In the millions!
Designed, owned and raced by Bill Mitchell head of Styling and replacement to Harley Earl..car is now in GM collection. Built on the Chassis of the fiberglass body Duntov SS racer that practiced at Sebring 1957 prior to the arrival of the magnesium bodied finished car..
About as special as they come.
Was later repainted silver..which in my opinion gave it an even better look.

Re: Elkhart Lake..I believe!
Very cool picture. What a sight! Just another car at the time.
I had a chance to inspect the 1957 SS Sebring car. It was very neat to do so. It's very special to sit behind the wheel of one of these things.
Priceless......- Top
