    found it

    been looking for bowden cable housing, .184" in od, to replace the housings on my 57 vette hood release assembly. nobody had the correct OD(which is necessary if you want the housing to remain retained in the barrel of the hood pull). was rummaging thru the shop the other day and came across a Mig welder wire conduit i'd bought years ago for my welder. can't remember if it was ordered for my first mig, a Solar mig or my second mig, a snap-on. anyway, the product to seek is a Tweco Mig-Gun "optimum" wire conduit, part # 44-116-25, stock # 1440-1115. there is enough cable housing to do 3 pair of 56-57 hood release cable assemblies.mike

    Mike,

    Is this it?

    That would be correct for the w/washer cable as well, wouldn't it? (foot pedal to motor)

    Thanks,
    Dave

      the cable i got years ago has a plastic liner on about 3 feet of the 25 foot length of cable whereas the one on your link appears to have plastic insulation its entire length. mike

          Mike;

          I am very interested in your hood cable rebuild effort. I will need to do the same thing to my 56. Tell us all about it.

            will try to do an article for the Restorer.Disassembly of the multiple pieces that constitute the assembly is a PITA but its gotta be done in order to have the handle and hanging bracket chrome plated. mike
