Re: exhaust coating
Nothing is really accepted if your putting a coating on anything that should be natural. If they detect the coating they will deduct. I had Jerry do my manifolds 6 years ago. They still are rust free and look as good as the day I put them on. They cost me 2 hole points out of 4500 at the Windsor National in 2004. Most point hits for coatings are very small. I prefer no rust in 10 years to having parts rusting before you even have the car judged.
My feelings are a lot of people seem to be worry about points more then should. Do the car the way you will enjoy it. Some are willing to spend $150.00 to save a 1 point deduct. That's not cost effective. If you spent $150.00 per point on 25% of the points on your car the total cost for those points $168,759.00. Spend the money where you get the most bang for your buck. Everyone has a different opinion on this. This is mine.- Top
