    53-55 brake switch question

I did have a few 53's in the 70's when no one wonted them and can remember the wiring end plugs were black bake alight like the bottom switch . My 55 uses the steel one shown. Question which one was used in which years. The bottom pic is just a Echlin replacement but original in design.

All 53 and 54 original cars that I have had expeience with, use the steel cased switch. Some use a switch excactly like the courtesy light switch but with two prongs like the ones you show.
