C3 Strut rod ends

I have just pressed out my srtut rod bushings (originals) and was amazed at the crude boring of the rod ends. This does not appear to be damage from the bushing sleeve as the area actually has some raised grooves inside. I realize this is no big issue since the rubber actually mates to the rod end. Just curious if this is common. Thanks,

The crude bore on C2 strut rod ends is certainly common.

Keep in mind that the original bushings did not have a steel outer shell and were "vulcanized in place". So, a precise bore was not really required for PRODUCTION purposes. So far, though, I've never encountered one that would not accept the SERVICE style bushing with the outer steel shell.
