Sal, Unfortunately with a 65 you are out of luck. In 67 there is a chance to get the tank sticker from on top of the gas tank on the car. From 77 on you can get a copy of the dealers invoice from GM, and 81 on you can get copies of build sheets and window stickers from the Corvette Museum as long as it was produced at Bowling Green. What you will need to do is be a good detective to determine what your car came with. I keep a digital camera handy to document all teltale items like tachometer redlines etc. Eric

            Re: build sheet

Wow, I didn't know we could get a dealer invoice copy from GM. Eric, could you please provide me(US)with the GM contact information so I can pass it on to all the "77 on" owners that contact me on a regular basis.
Does it cost anything? Are you required to verify that you own the car or is a VIN # sufficient?

            Thanks in advance

                Here is what you get

Art, Allied Vaughn has a contract with GM to provide the research. It runs about $50 per invoice. The records are printed from microfiche. Some older cars are not legible. There appears to be one person at AV who does the search, (Stacy) so it takes some time. I have attached a copy I ordered for my 84. Not sure if you need to own the car or not. I have not tried to find one I didn't own. I have a copy of the order form at home. I can post it here tomorrow. Eric 3,182

Re: Here is what you get

Eric, I'm not interested in the 1982+ documents, I have known that they were available. It's the 77 to 81 documents that I'm interested in. If ANYONE out there in Corvette land has gotten your Corvettes 1977 to 1981 dealer documents from Allied Vaughn I would be very interested in hearing from you and seeing what they sent you. If you prefer you can e-mail me directly.
I see the order form on their site so it won't be necessary to post it.........thanks anyway.

                    Its 77 and up

Art, The document you see is the same exact type you would get for a 77 to 82. It is very close if not the same format/form. I have one for my 78 Pace car, just have not scanned it yet. They are copies of dealer invoices. I have them for my 78, 81, and 84. Working on the one for my 89 as we speak. There a few limitations, they do not have Canadian cars (didn't have one for my 95 Canadian Pace Car, and I don't believe they have engineering/pilot cars or cars ordered by GM in this archive. Eric

Roy, Wow ZN1 even pulled a trailer back then. Rare option only 972 delivered. Given your bubble top fame, how long did it take for you to get some transparent roof panels on the 78? Eric

A bout three months for the transparent roof panels, You like the trailering package , like all my Corvettes what good are they for if not pulling something . It came with a larger Radiator, sway bars , High amp Alternator, the way today to tell if it came that way from the factory is to look under the front and you'll see a added air pop-riveted air deflector added to the original one. The radio cost was the most pricey thing I ordered , love talking with the truckers. Oh! Well I like having a hitch in case I see something out of state and can pull it home. Ha!

Sounds like a good buy for $89.00 Too bad the L82 wasn't availible in California... Could be worse could have been stuck with the 1980 LG4. Could you get a G95 optional Diff Ratio in CA back then? Eric
