GM #1110915 is applicable to 1958-60 250 hp FI engines as well as 1961 275 hp FI engine. Given the date code of 6 E 23, I would say that this was a SERVICE distributor manufactured on May 23, 1966.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -

Bob,In all my years in the FI stuff I never heard of a 6E23. Joe is right of course about it being a possible service replacement. Typically all the 915 distributors were built in late 57 and stamped as such no matter if they fit 58 to 61. Does you distributor have a hex vacuum advance? JohnComment

The GM #1110915 was available in SERVICE until October, 1969. Of course, that does not necessarily tell us when the last one was actually manufactured. However, considering this, it's very possible that they were still being manufactured for SERVICE in 1966.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment

Joe, I believe you on the service replacement. Just personally haven't seen one of those because that distr wasn't very popular. Until recent years you couldn't give one away. Finding the correct vac advance for that distr is really hard. Thanks, JohnComment
