    67 tire choice

I want to purchase a set of tires for driving. I do not want to use a set of reproduction bias ply tires for this. What I would like is a set of currently available radial tires with a 5/8 inch white wall. The complication is that manufactures' literature does not indicate the width of the whitewall. The counter people at the dealers have shown me what they have in stock, but I have yet to find a decent tire with a 5/8 inch whitewall.

Has anyone recently purchased a set of modern radial tires with a 5/8 inch whitewalls? If so, please let me know the manufacturer and model no.

    Thank you,

    Randy

    Randy -

If you can't find a 205/75-15 radial whitewall the right size at Firestone, Goodyear, or Michelin, Diamond Back Tire will put whitewalls any width you want and any distance from the bead you want on new, modern high-volume radials.

Diamond Back Classic Tires is an online tire shop that creates custom tires for classic cars. Diamond Back creates white wall tires, redline tires, blueline tires, goldline tires and other vintage tires for pre-1976 vehicles including Corvettes, Mustangs, prewar cars, postwar cars, European cars and more.

i bought Goodyear regatta 205R75, real close to 5/8", not sure if the 5th tire will fit in the tub. Should have bought bias ply for the spare.

Hi Randy, I think this may help for your 67'. Michelin makes a tire called the "SYMMETRY" and it comes with a very thin whitewall in 1/4" to 5/8". It a tire they use on Cadillac's and Continnental's so you know it will give a good ride.
