Hello - I have an Idler arm that I acquired some time ago but I cannot find the correct application for it in my GM parts books. The number is 14053350 group #6.895. I was told by a GM parts dealer it fit 63-81 corvettes with power steering? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave------
The GM parts man was correct----well, ALMOST correct. The GM #14053350 idler arm was originally used in PRODUCTION and SERVICE for 1982 Corvettes. It became the SERVICE part for ALL 1963-81 Corvettes, both power steering-equipped and not so equipped, in June, 1984 when the GM #3779184 idler arm, used in PRODUCTION and SERVICE for all 1963-81 Corvettes, was discontinued. It's configuration is very similar to the earlier part except that it usually has the number 14048901 embossed on the arm rather than the number 3779185 which is seen on the GM #3779184 arm.
The GM #14053350 was discontinued in January, 1994 and replaced by GM #12509357 which is a quality piece and 100% functional for all 63-82 Corvette applications, but configured much differently than the earlier arms.
