    Powerglide dip=stick

Attached is a picture of the trans dip-stick I in my 1957 Powerglide tranny. I don't know if it is original or not.

Someone requested I send a picture of the handle.

    LG,
    Mike

Would this dip stick configuration be appropriate for 1960 also?
      Thank you.

        Re: Powerglide dip=stick (YES)

Message above was posted before I had read prior Powerglide thread, however
is it correct to assume that 55 to 61 cast iron PGs all had same dipstick,
dipstick tube and dimensions and markings. Mine was broken now brazed and
unsightly, need replacement for my '60.

        Thanks again,

        Regards to all,

        Bert

Roy-- can you fill us in on the difference between the 53-4 dipstick and the 55 dipstick

              DON

Don/ believe it or not I don't have a pic. On hand to show you but the 53 to 54 stick is easy to tell from a 55. The 53-54 head has a nut looking design while the 55 head is round, hard not to notice. I don't think it's mentioned in the JM.
Remember you have a 55 and how often do you see one (a 55 Corvette) your 55 must be looking better with your concern about correct parts.
