    69 rear window storage problem

Do these rear windows actually slide in and latch onto the storage tray as per the owners manual or was it just wishfull thinking on GM's part?

I've never been able to get my two latches to slide over the two window studs and always just left the window in "loose". Now I have the tray out and on the floor and I thought I'd try it again....no luck. I can't see how in the heck this window is supposed to be secured to the tray.

    Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what my 1970 owner's manual says, and it has been years since I had the rear window in the storage tray, but:
There is a U-shaped catch at the rear of the tray -- the top of the window frame fits into that catch.
There are two depressions for the pins on the bottom of the window -- there are latches that turn over the pins to lock the window into the tray.
There have been numerous iterations of that tray, and I wouldn't doubt that some are different than others -- leave aside what they are made of.

Thanks Terry. I grasp the concept of how it is supposed to work but that's about it. Actualy I did manage to get it latched into place but it was a bear and I don't think I'd be able to do it once the tray is back in the car.

I'm trying to unwarp the tray with a water mist and books so maybe once I get it closer to straight it will work better but I have my doubts...
