I am interested in going to the Motor City Regional with my 73 LS4 and my 5yr old boy in tow. I remember the proving grounds very well from when I was a boy and my father worked in Research and Deveopement. (He let me sit in a prototype vette in the R&D lobby). I am just a poor working man trying to scratch a meeger living in life, and thus my car is nothing more than a driver condition fun car and not a show car by any means. It even still has the 70's Hooker Headers on it (Nothing quite like a big block on Hookers). None the less it is a numbers matching car. My concern is that if I attend the regional in Detroit I will get to much grief from all you guys with better cars. If I decide to go what class should I enter the car into that will make it eligible to drive around the test track?

Re: Motor City Regional
You will get no grief from most NCRS members, and those who might have snide comments can be ignored. You know, everyone has an opinion -- and some other things. What counts is come on out and have some fun with fellow Corvette enthusiasts, and by all means bring your son.
Enter your car in the Sportsman cagtagory -- although I'm not sure that entering the car is required to tour the proving grounds. I read only Corvettes will be allowed on the grounds though. Someone in the organization of the meet will have to answer the registration question.Terry- Top

Re: Motor City Regional
All you have to do is register for the event and pay the family registration fee and the fee for the Sunday Proving Grounds Tour - it's not necessary to enter the car in any category. You can download the registration form from the Michigan NCRS website, http://www.michiganncrs.org - just go to the site and click on the "Motor City Regional" tab to download it. Bring your Corvette and enjoy it - we like 'em all!

Re: Motor City Regional
Jim,
I drove my Cavalier to the Indiana Regional since both of the Corvettes were off the road at he time. Noboby set it on fire or anything and I had a great time with a lot of great members. By all means, come on out and enjoy the fun.
