Thanks for the response, James. If this color is really an anomaly I'm surprised it went all the way into the fourth production month. I have an October car. These "scarlet" belts may be more common than I thought. I wonder when the bright red belts started to appear. Have you ever had your car judged and what was the reaction to the belts?

      Jim,

I have had my car judged twice, once in 1984 and once in 2004, one Chapter meet and one National meet. The seat belts judged with a zero originality point deduct in 2004 and only a 1 or 2 point deduct for condition since they are originals and do show a slight amount of wear. The car is up on my lift right now in storage. I will try to get out in the garage and take a few pictures of the belts and send them to you. Send me am email where you want the pictures sent to.

      Thanks,

      James West

Here is pic of Nov 63 belt. Looks more like the wine color, especially under the painted buckle. What does the ink stamp represent ? Cant really make it out, maybe J2948 ??

Yes, that be them. Where did you locate it. Just shows the x-box on my end.

It's magic...what I did was, right click with the mouse, click on properties, copied the URL into a browser, opened the picture, did a right click with the mouse, did a 'save as' to my pictures. Uploaded to Photobucket, did a cut and past on the URL into the NCRS site, done. Took about 45 seconds.

Rain and snow in NH, keeping myself busy.
