    mcornwell@environcorp.com

The driver side door gap on my 64 convertible is vey good except at the upper rear where it is very tight. One restorer said that adjustment would just itghten the gap at another area. One restorer sugested applying tape to the door face and sanding the edge and then repaint the edge. The car has a new frame, could the frame installer have left out a required shim and if so can one be installed now without cracking the glass? I also witnesed quite a lot of movement at the gap as the car was raised on a lift. Thanks for any advice, Mike

Should be able to shim up at the #3 and, or down on the rear #4 mounts and help that situation.

Is it difficult to add/remove shims on a completed 64 convertible?

Not too difficult. I just replaced all of the mounts under a 66 coupe and welded up the bird cage and frame mounts. I would think you could change a couple of shims.
