Because using one of the listed sites, they bid at the last possible second with the next minimum high bid without you having to pull the trigger and maybe being too late in entering your manually entered bid. It is not better but just faster.

Not my understanding. Think the automated sniper submits your maximum bid and eBay proxy bidding takes over incrementing the current bid as necessary to obtain the item.

          Re: Not Snipper...Sniper! LOL

As mentioned above, decide the max you want to spend and enter that amount. Unless the snipe bids more than your max you will get the item. If it goes over then its more than you wanted to spend. There is a tendancy to try to get the item for the least amount which is what brought these programs into being. I have won many items where ebay enters my bid after the last snipe bid at closing time because I had established a higher bid early on and the bid did not reach my maximum. The snipe programs do not go past the closing time whereas an established higher bid will.

I just bid what I'm willing to pay for a item. If it goes higher they can have it. If the item is at $10.00 and I think its worth $30.00 to me within the last minute I put in $30.00. If nobody else bids I get it for $11.00. But if it goes to $31.00 I don't want it.
