I need to clean the interior (dash pads, seats, door panels, inst panel etc.) of a 66 coupe in storage since the early 80s. Everything is dirty / dusty etc. and I am concerned about using too harsh a cleaner which would cause damage to the dash pads and plastic parts. Any recommendations on materials that can clean and soften the interior parts to help prevent them from cracking are appreciated. Any suggestions on things to avoid doing is equally appreciated. Thank you for any recommendations on products that you have had success with.

Re: 1966 coupe interior cleaning
Rich,
Assuming your seats are vinyl I would suggest using a little Dawn dish soap and water and a soft scrub brush on all hard and vinyl surfaces for the initial cleaning. Rinse immediately with a terry wash cloth and clean water. The brush and terry cloth get into the groves and vinyl texture. Do small areas at a time and you may need to do this a few times to get really clean. Then follow with the product for which I have attached a link. Use the same soft scrub brush to work it into the vinyl surfaces and wipe after with a clean terry cloth. I wipe other hard surfaces with that same wiping towel. After 24 hours take a microfiber towel and buff over all surfaces. Looks good to me. Gives a fresh non greasy new look and is good for the vinyl plus UV protection.

Re: 1966 coupe interior cleaning
I agree with the Dawn or Polmolive type dish detergent. nothing to strong. It is better to do it 2 or 3 times rather than ruin something. After yo get it really clean then rub all the vinyl with a good preservative, let it soak in and do it again. When it is all soaked in wipe off the excess!Take your time the dirt didn't build up over night!- Top

Re: 1966 coupe interior cleaning
Stay away from armor all. It collects dust and looks oily. It does nothing to protect much of anything. There are a lot better products out there.
