    new man on the block

Well I have been asking questions for the past couple of weeks and maybe I should have started before I purchased my 65 Corvette. The last Vette I owned was 1n 1961 it was a 58 like new for sure. I was 21 and just out of the Navy may dad bought it for me, and now you know I am a old guy and need help with my new car been trying to find out some history on the car with not much luck I have a old Tn. plate (1988) that reads ITISA65 .joined Tn .gov but still haven't had any luck.Need to have motor rebuilt and Mike Sams is going to do that this month bough the car through a broker Looks like a older restoration with new paint I am going to need to have it repainted as well All #s matching thats the main reason I purchased the car.Well now you guys know a little about me so when you see one of my questions you can say the old guy needs help again better get back to him.

Sal, good luck on your project. Take your time and do a lot of research before working on your car as you progress. Along with asking questions on the board here will save you time and redoing things that are done wrong. Have fun and enjoy. Mike

Sal, I thank you also for the introduction. Since joining the NCRS not quite two years ago, I have only had to ask one or two questions, but found the information, not only extremely valuable, but also the helping attitude very, very positive. The info given out on this technical site has been so helpful to me, it's now my daily ritual, reading the blogs over morning coffee. An absolute wealth of information comes thru on almost a daily course.
Some of these guys have forgotten more about Corvettes, than I have learned since buying my first one in 1975. God willing, if I live another 25 years or so, I hope to be able to give a little technical advice myself. Welcome aboard.

Welcome, Sal. If you wanna' learn, and get the best information available, then you've landed in the right place.
It would be great if you can add to your profile. That always helps me whenever I try to answer someone's question, and need more information before making an intelligent reply. Of course, I rarely make an intelligent reply, no matter HOW much information that I am in possession of.
                Tell us about your '65!
I'm partial to them. See my profile for more.

                        Sal,

There are a lot of old men here. Some are even older.

A lot of those old men have a lot of experience with old Corvettes and are willing to share their knowledge.

So ask questions, you will get answers if they can remember the answer.

Some answers may be "tongue in cheek". Don't get upset, someone will give you a serious answer.

                        Verle
