Seeing the prices the caps are getting $700.00 and up, people better find a locking one and install the original only when showing your Corvette. This is my 1955 accessory GM one that was also used for all C1's.

keep in in your pocket until the judges want to see it then put it on the car and take it back off when they are done looking at it. every year every show someone gets their cap stolen. it happened at the regional and at bloomington. at bloomington i found some shade under a tree about 100 yards from my car and watched about 5 people lift my gas door. i warned everyone i knew to remove the caps. one of my frinds did not listen and got his cap stolen. mine stays in my pocket until the judge asks for it. its too easy to steal. its right there at pocket level. even if you are watching the car someone can get it. be carefull. -

A friend got his 78 Anniversary Edition horn button stolen last month at the Kissimmee Regionals in the flea market. Watch those too.Comment
