Probably a dumb question on my 1963 shocks, but I will ask it anyway.... Lower shock mount, there is a dish shaped washer and a nut to hold the shock in place. Question is, which way does that dish shaped washer face, in around the rubber bushing or out???
John, I hope you don't have the retainer "wrapped around the shock rubber bushing" or some judge in-the-know is going to "ding" you. Although the orientation you describe is the intuitive, that's not how GM says it's supposed to be installed. The "cup" should be facing OUTWARD.
Joe & Joel, Yes the shock washer faces outward for sure. Not logical but that is the way it is. I crawled under my car and that's the way it is. Sorry. John
