    CS113R camshaft

Where in the state of NJ can this Speed Pro camshaft CS113R be ordered?
This is the mechanical cam for the HP engines thru 1963.

I founf Parts America carries Speed Pro Cams but their response is, "Unfortunately, at this time the part(s) you requested is not available to us". They even show a CS1103R hydraulic cam but can't get the CS113R??

I am waiting for a clarification but hold out no hope. The Napa, Autozone and couple of independants don't carry the brand and won't order it.

Feel uncomfortable getting one on ebay especially when you calculate the shipping from some of these sellers. NJ has everything imaginable, where do they keep their CS113R cams?

    Thanks,
    Chasing the wild goose,
    Joe

    Joe,

That should be the old Duntov "097".

Did a quick search, and found this:

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CPAUNA?...0&linkCode=asn

    Let me know.

Did you try LICS? Dr. Rebuild? Zip? Any of the Corvette parts houses?

Joe, Try the local CarQuest store. I assume you have those in NJ? I know my local NAPA store could not order it. Order the matching solid lifters AT992.
My 63 FI car is running that cam. At 900 RPM it has about 16" of vacuum.

If you have problems email me at johndegreg@aol.com
For some reason my email address here is marked private. I have to figure out how to undo that although I get too many emails now. John D.

NAPA doesn't carry any Federal Mogul brands because NAPA is owned by Dana Corp.

Use the NAPA cross reference to run the F-M or GM number. Likely they sell an exact replacement under the Clevite brand or other Dana brand.

In fact, it's quite possible that Dana actually buys he cam from F-M or vice versa.

                    Joe----

Most of the Corvette parts suppliers don't carry internal engine parts. I highly recommend Amazon.com or Summit as suggested by others. Amazon is a great source and they apparently have this cam in stock. I have found that they offer VERY prompt shipping and will even do next day air for additional charge.

Summit also offers VERY fast shipping on in-stock items. However, I sort of doubt that they'll have this cam in stock. Nevertheless, they are an excellent source.

Performance Chevy here in Phoenix has

access to a clone - I have one in my '60 racer and idle and the bark are good to go. 602-254-9586 and ask for Bill Knobloch. He's run ads in the Driveline and I believe the price is under $100.

Dick, I have no problems ordering that cam from Car Quest. Last one I ordered took about three days to get. I only go to Car Quest and NAPA. Car Quest is growing soo much. All over the USA now. John

                          THANKS GUYS!

Found a carquest about 20 miles away that will order the cam. Sometimes it just gets so frustrating trying to get parts you think are readily available. Ever try to get male female brake line parts when making up your own lines?

                          Thanks again,

Joe, My local NAPA store stocks a ton of brass fittings. So you are making up your own brake lines. Be careful my friend. That is a hard project double flaring those steel lines. The flaring kits you buy sure don't last very long. I can remember when I was a kit making the double flared line on my old hot rod. Well one day the pedal went to the floor. That was a panic time for sure. The flare let loose and it was good by Charley. John

FIPhart, I did not know that you had to flare a camshaft to make it work
