    C1 1960 Corvette Numbers

I just looked at a 1960 survivor car that is for sale at the Towe Auto Museum in Sacramento and currently on Ebay. I was checking for numbers on the radaitor and couldn't find any. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I also have the numbers off the fuel pump 4656 B5 and the wiper motor 5044266. Are these correct for a July 1960 build date car?

If anyone is interested in this car I can provide some vehicle condition info.

Not sure what you are asking for...

Mike, Are you interested in buying it? If so there are far more important numbers to check. Block, VIN Stamp, Intake.... The radiator, although is important to flight judge is available in reproduction form. Original engines are not (although some would argue that one) Eric 3,182

      Re: C1 1960 Corvette Numbers

That's the correct PN for the wiper motor. Originals may have been rubber ink stamped with date codes, but they'd be long gone on most by now. Also, the correct number for the fuel pump (4656).

      On radiator, the JG reads:

"The gloss plack painted standard cooper radiator will have a Harrison Division manufacturer's tag soldered to the center, inlet side of the upper core tank containing the part number '314674' (very early 1958 number is 3139588), and a manufacturing date code consisting of two digits representing the calendar year, followed by a letter represent the month..."

Re: Not sure what you are asking for...

I have been all over this car looking at numbers today. Everything matching and correct except new front glass (AGP = American Glass Products), new correct seat covers over original springs and frames, and the carpet has been replaced. Everything else looks good with correct casting and assembly dates for the mid July build date. Just couldn't see anything on the radiator and didn't have references for the wiper motor and fuel pump.

Fuel pump is a replacement/reproduction. Originals would never have had the alphanumeric code (B5 or anything else)

2 days left on Ebay and it's at $60,100.

The fuel pump numbers are on a small tag fastened to the fuel pump.

Should be stamped on the flange--that one is definitely a rebuild/reproduction.

                    Agree...

It was common practice for 'reverse' assy line fuel pump mfgrs to attach an ID tag under one of the pump body screws. Several different AC PN pumps differed only by the 'clocking' of the body to the top (match fuel line geometry of the specific vehicle). Therefore worn original pumps were disassembled, cleaned and individual parts went to 'bins'.

The line would then pull pump components at random for re-assy to meet a given PN job and the metal ID went on to document the final product. Original AC pumps were stamped with the PN suffix on the mounting flange....
