Has anyone out there ever seen an original wonderbar with white lettering in the bar? In the AIM it shows a change from part number 7270121 to 7270131 on 4/1/59. In Noland's book on page 250 there's a picture of a '58 interior taken in Dec '57 and the lettering appears white to me.
I emailed Tim Mickey with the question on wonder bar lettering color and his response was "I looked at every 58 radio I have from 1316 to 9598 and all are black. I don't know positively, but I am betting all were black." My delima is '58 ended at s/n 9168. I sent an email to him seeking clarification on the s/n discrepancy but it's been a week and I haven't heard back.
My radio was sent out about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I need to get a face kit sent out to the restorer (Charles Sigfried), but I'm still not clear on whether to send the white or the black lettering wonderbar kit. Since the radio was gone from the car when I got it I don't have the original to go from.
Any help is certainly appreciated. Ted
