I am at the stage when I have to put the body back on the chassis of my 67BB. What should I do with the underbody fibreglass. It looks "plain" is this correct??
thanks
Yep, she was essentially 'naked' down below! Make a chassis judge's day by NOT having gook/paint on the bottom side and exposing the natural glass to naked eye inspection/verification of lack of fiberglass repairs....
Look in your copy of Noland Adam's Vol 2. Each section gives a bottom side shot from a fresh car off the line stood on end taken from the Milford Proving Grounds as 'before' test documentation. You ought to confrim exactly what was painted, blacked out, and what wasn't to confrim what I say!
When repairs are to made to the fiberglass, how should the underside be treated? Is there anyway to blend, or is there additives for the resins to make the repair look original. If you shine a light from the underside you can see the light through the matt and resin on the outer surface. One repair is on bare fiberglass on the rear section of the car. The other is to the front fender and should be covered by the undercoating.
Thanks! Ray
