I am restoring my 70 LT 1 convertible and the original interior color is light saddle. The dash and console are in very nice shape but could use a coat of vinyl dye. I have new door panels from AK. The problem is that the dash and the new door panels have the correct marbleized patern in it. What is the best way to replicated that on the other interior parts and the dash to match. Also does anyone know the correct paint code for the dye. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: 1970 Interior help!
I think you should be able to get paint to match through vendors such as corvette america. I just resprayed my seat backs with paint from them for my 71 in dark saddle and it seemed to match that color fairly well.- Top

Re: 1970 Interior help!
Hi Jonathan. My 70 also has the light saddle interior. Although I don't know the code, I ordered vinyl paint from Ecklers and was very happy with the color. You should not be surprised, though, that this color is unlikely to perfectly match the color of your other panels.

Re: 1970 Interior help!
Jonathan if you have automotive paint store by you and If they mix small cans of spray paint you can bring in a panel and they can match that color for you. I have done this before and then match is the best you can get. Some of the corvette supply houses do fine for a general mix but the shade is off sometimes due to changes during the year. Paul- Top

Re: 1970 Interior help!
Hi Jonathan: The orginal pattern on pieces should be remain after redying. When I restored my 71 saddle interior, I too mixed orginal pieces and new repro pieces. I found that in the redying process, I have to blend a light saddle and dark saddle dye to match the colors.- Top
