I don't have my 67 JM handy. Can anyone tell me the acceptable bolt markings for 67 390 intake bolts? I know the repos have an M on the head. I have some zinc bolts with the letter A in the center with 3 radiating lines.
For head bolts, I know the repos have the cross and the letter M in one quadrant. I have two sets with the cross and the letter O. Any help is appreciated. I would always rather use original stuff when I can.
I think the original intake bolt manifold bolts could have had "M", "A" or other headmarkings. I think that "M" is the most common. I think that "A" was used for a lot of aluminum manifold applications with zinc plated bolts. I really think that either should be ok for any 67 big block.
Original head bolts had a cross on the head WITH LINES EXTENDING ALL THE WAY TO THE PERIMETER. Current GM replacements have lines which are shorter and don't extend all the way to the perimeter. I think that any that you find with the original configuration cross will have period correct headmarkings in one corner.
