    C2 Body Mounts & Shims?

Can someone verify whether the shims installed at the factory where to make up variances in the frame mount bracket height, or were they used to make up variances in the body mount points?

I would think that the frame bracket height was the vaiance, and the shims where needed to "level" the frame before setting the body?

    Thank you.

      Carr -

The body was built while the underbody was bolted solid to a steel build truck whose pedestals were machined to the "zero" body datums, and the body was considered "at design" when it came off the build truck at body drop. The shims were to correct the height of the body mount brackets on the frame so they also corresponded to the design datums. In production, there was FAR more variation in the frame than there was in the underbody.
