64 frame differences vs. 65

What are the differences between a 64 and a 65 frame other than that the 65 has the depression in the front crossmember for the big block? Is there any difference between a 63 and a 64?

Mike, one difference is that early 64 frames (till 4/64) did not have the support bracket in the back corner of frame by body mount 3.

63's differ from 64's in that former had no rubber body mounts so frame brackets for body mounts are welded higher on the 63 frame. 64 used rubber body mounts so brackets lowered on 64 frames the thickness of the rubber body mounts.also,63 e-brake hardware differs from 64 e-brake hardware. feel certain there are other dis-similar areas.mike

Mike, there is also a rebound snubber that is outboard of the frame (rear) on '63-64 frames and it is moved to align with the pad on the trailing arm on the '65 up cars, just more of the needed adjustments to allow the use of Disk Brakes.

Also, 63 frames did not have the slots in the main frame rail as I recall, used on later cars for the rear mount for Sidepipes---working from memory now...

64-64 used 2 additional center body mounts. *NM*
