          A true loss to the car hobby community. From ZZ Top's Cadzilla to 57 Chezoom, he cut the path Foose and others will follow. Sympathy to his family.

              Did you ever meet him?
              My mother told me not to speak ill of people, so I won't say anything.
              May he rest in peace.

                    I'm new to NCRS and while I'm sitting here in Iraq I enjoy reading through the posts, even if they don't pertain to my 68. I also agree that the post by Jim 8797 was uncalled for and cold hearted!!
                    There are two kinds of friends; the friend you call to bail you out of jail and the friend sitting next to you in the cell saying "Damn, that was great"!!!

                      I didn't mean to be cruel or cold hearted. I just thought that since this board is strictly for TECHNICAL INFO., this topic doesn't belong. I've seen many times where people have been criticized for posting a "part wanted" or "something for sale" because it was against the rules.

                        Re: Jim 8797 TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR

                        We are all automotive enthusiasts whether you like Chevrolets, Fords or Chryslers etc. Many people have contributed to the success of this hobby including but not limited to those who like these vehicles in their stock configuration or the custom builders, like Boyd Coddington. I'm ashamed to see that one of these "enthusiasts" has such a poor attitude when an influential individual like Boyd has passed on and I am disappointed that Jim 8797 is associated with the Corvette and this organization. The attitude of Jim 8797 is a stain upon the automotive hobby and all the good people involved with it. My sympathies are extended to the family of Mr. Coddington and the automotive customization and restoration industry as a whole since we all lost a piece of what makes us brothers.

                          Joe,
                          If you would, please explain to me what I said to warrant such a reply. I too am sad at his passing and if could read my posts on other forums that allow such topics, you might understand. I'd be happy to take this issue to e-mail if you want to continue. This isn't the place for your type of reply either.
                          The bottom line is "rules are rules" and the NCRS rules don't allow for these type of topics. They should either be enforced or thrown out completely.

                            Jim,
                            At this point I think your better off saying nothing. Boyd Cottington was part of the american automotive fabric that links many of us in this hobby. The fact that someone mentioned his passing has no relationship to using the web site for personal gain to sell or find a part. It was simply an effort to let the Corvette community know about Boyd's demise, a kind of public service. R.I.P. Boyd Rich # 2276

                              Jim;

                              I think the issue is that you have appointed yourself the NCRS web police. It is not your responsibility to do so. As you can tell, this is a sore topic with a lot of people. Many of us resent the "sensorship".

                              NCRS has plently of people that come down on topics that are "not appropriate". They get deleted regularly.
