    1970 spare tire bolt assy finish

    Can someone give me the correct finish on the bolt that the spare tire lock attaches to and the hat bracket that this bolt goes through and attaches to the rear frame? I'm pretty sure that the bold is silver cad but not sure about the rest of the assy. Thanks Thad LeJeune

      The latch bolt is zinc plated. The bracket to which it attaches is painted semi-gloss black. The special nut which is "captured" within the bracket is zinc plated.

          Bracket and bolt were both dull silver cad if memory serves....

                  As I stated, I was sure that the bolt was cad but not sure about the captured net! The bracket is where I get in to trouble. After a careful inspection of the bracket, it appears that it to was cad platted and then maybe painted black--kinda like the hood hinges. Any thoughts on this idea? Thanks again--Thad
