    fan pulley

I installed a new water pump pulley, 5 blade fan and fan cutch. At slow idle, the pulley wobbles a bit. At faster speeds it quits wobbling and seems to turn true. Any suggestions?

Also I can hear a rattle coming from the area of the oil filler tube. It sounds almost like some sort of bearings. I used a wooden stick a stethoscope to listen to different areas; thermostat, water pump (it's brand new as well), and on the manifold. But the only place I can pinpoint is at the oil filler tube.

If there really is a significant "wobble" in the fan assembly, then one of the components must be deficient OR there was an installation problem. Check to be sure that the fan blade assembly is FULLY seated on the fan clutch. Also, check to be sure that the fan clutch hub flange is FULLY seated on the pulley front surface.

I can't really tell what the "rattle" is although I seriously doubt that any bearings are involved. It may be that the tube, itself, is not a sufficient interference fit in the manifold so that it is creating the sound.

It's also possible that your intake manifold oil splash shield, if your engine uses one, is loose. This shield is located under the intake manifold and is attached by special drive-in studs. If one of the studs is loose or missing, that might produce a rattle. Also, that sound might be most prominent at the oil fill tube. Unfortunately, the only way to inspect for this will be to remove the manifold. I'd look for other causes first.

I would suggest you return it to Mr. Wobble of California for a refund. Try an original or a Paragon version.

You aren't talking about that guy in California out near the Queen Mary that knows more about the machine tool business and parts fabrication that anyone else in the whole world, are you?

          Probably

How far away is the Queen Mary? He's the king of wobble for sure.
