When I acquired my 63 SWC, it had funky aftermarket seatbelts. I checked the archives for information on this subject without luck. I understand that they were a dealer installed item back then and assume that they are not a judged item, right? What is the most desireable type belt for a 63 and where can they be acquired?

Seat belts were factory installed in '63, and are judged. There are two versions of buckles, depending on your serial number, and very specific info and design on the webbing. You need to get the judging manual and read up on them. There are several vendors who can supply what you need, and won't be cheap. Others will certainly make recommendations on who they like. If your car is a driver, you can buy look-alike belts for $70. The right stuff will be in the $300-plus range.

I also have a 63 SWC and was judged two years ago. Tom C. is correct on judging of the seatbelt, but sure on the price of new ones. I also need new or reconditon the ones I have. Have called around to get some prices on new complete set of seatbelts. PRICES RANGE $900.00 to $1200.00. Any cheaper I would like to know about.Comment
