Any advice on the glue I can buy "over the counter" such as a 3M spray product or a brush on contact adhesive from my local home center. Thanks!!!

Re: C1 - Dash pad Glue
I used 3-M glue when I installed my dash pad. The pad was fine for the fist couple of weeks, and then from the interior summer heat the pad came loose from under the windsheld passenger side. The cause could have been poor instlation procedure on my part or a lack glue coverage. I check with the Al Knoch Co, the manufacture of the pad on the correct type of glue to use and they recomended a glue with more open time. I would check with the manufacture of your pad for recommendations on the type of glue.Ray Carney

Re: C1 - Dash pad Glue
If you wantto be able to move the pad a little bit while installing, "yellow
death"- 3M weatherstrip cement - will work. Some of the spray stuff works entirely too quickly, plus there is apparently some question as to whether the trapped aerosols contribute to separation.- Top

Pad t*******
What I did to prevent the pad from shrinking and comming out from under the weather strip, was not to trim the pad even with the top of the dash. I allowed the vinyl to extend past the dash, and rolled it down into the window channel. I timmed the foam from the vinyl that extends past the dash top. Then with a heat gun, slowly heated it to conform to the 'L' channel. Then I trimmed it off. This way, I have about and inch or so of excess vinyl to shrink before it comes out of the weather strip.- Top

Re: C1 - Dash pad Glue
I did not use any glue on mine. The trick is to trim it very carefully. We must have spent 8 hrs t******* and fitting. Speaker grill, defrost outlet, corners etc. I also put it under the windshield frame. Make sure to trim it enough so it lies flat in the corners. Good luck. Its a pain IMHO. But a labor of love?- Top

Re: C1 - Dash pad Glue
No glue! wow, I may have to consider that. I can understand how most everything on top, front and sides can hold it in place, but what about the bottom? Also how long has it been in the car so far? Any regrets?
Thanks Don!!!

Re: C1 - Dash pad Glue
Over a year. Been out in the sun too, at shows, etc. The only thing I should have done is trimmed and flattened it more with a heat gun under the windsheild corners. The creases on the Al Knoch pad are sharp. The crease shows if you pull up the weatherstrip, but is ok otherwise. Had I trimmed more, it would have laid down more. The panels and moulding combined with the dash and glove tray seem to do just fine holding the stuff in place. The front is under the windshield.- Top
