    59 windshield upper channel assembly

I am rebuilding the windshield on my 59 and can not get the upper windshield channel into the tabs that are on the upper header molding. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this? Does anyone know if the tabs were bent over the channel at the factory therefore makeing it impossible to reinstall the two pieces together again.

They are not impossible to install. I've done it several times. I am having trouble visualizing exactly the nature of your problem. Can you elaborate?

Yes I can explain in a little more detail. The channel for the glass fits into the chrome cover that holds the visors. I can not get both ends of the channel to snap into the chrome cover one end will snap under the tab that goes all along the length of the chrome cover but the other side of the channel I can not get under the secpmd tab that is opposite the first tab. I have tried to slide the channel along the length of the chrome cover but the channel ends are curved and will not slide the length of the cover. I have tried twisting the channel in my hand to try and get it snapped over the second tab but I can not twist it enough to get it over the tab . Right now I am at my wits end and may put it back on the way it is. When I took it off the channel was not under both tabs and held ok.

The ones I have delt with had enough 'give" or "spring" to them to allow them to be carefully twisted enough to go over the channel. Without being there to see yours, it's difficult to tell you exactly how much "give" is too much.
