date on inside of 68 door panels

Howdy. My 68 door panels were just removed. On the inside of each, a date stamp reads Jan 23 1968

The stamp looks almost new, and just like the stamps used in my office (the kind your use to stamp paperwork with dates)

Just curious if the dates are real or not.

Its def a 68 door panel, aged, with no door pull handle (just the insert to pull with your fingers)

    John-----

These ink date stamps are common on the rear of interior panels, especially door panels. Presumably, they represent the date of manufacture of the panel.

GM did usually dated the panels with that kind of stamp--like an old due-date in library books. If the date precedes the build date of the car, they most likely are the originals.

Thats exactly what the stamp looks like. An old library stamp. Date month and year

        Thanks
