Fuse block resto on a 65

I have my main dash harness on the bench and have taken the fuse block apart. The metal pieces were corroded. I have cleaned all the parts with a small wire wheel in the Dremel. Any suggestions for surface treatment to prevent the metal from rusting again? I hate to buy a complete fuse block rebuild kit just for new metal parts.
    Thanks,
    Rob

Short of re-plating the bayonet fixures, there's little you can do. BUT, prior threads (now in the archieves) suggest laying on a coat of silicon grease will slow further oxidation to a snail' pace....

      Jack,

I have one wire from the main harness connector block that has been spliced around the block. It is currently run through the hole that serves the hood release cable, a real backyard special. I have not spent any time investigating this but I think it was done because the harness connector corroded. Any thoughts on a solution short of changing out the harness/connector blocks?

      Thanks,

      George

The terminals in the block that pass-thru the front of dash into the engine harness can be replaced, you need to replace both sides of the connection. The part number for the terminals is generally 2973915 or 2973 917 depending on the wire gage you are working on. They may be avialable from one of the wiring vendors such as Eagle, or the authorized distributor of these parts (I don't know the minimum order) is Pioneer Packard, at 1-800 packard

Dielectric grease is available at Radio Shack, or if you have a speed shop near you, it's available as MSD "Spark-Guard" - I apply it with a Q-Tip to the inside of spark plug boots so they're easier to remove.
